In another joint event, we had joeys, cubs and scouts all at Gunnamatta Park to help with the litter clear up inspired by Clean Up Australia Day.
It was important that the risks were explained to those who would be picking up litter so that they could be kept away from harm. Gloves were issued to be worn by all.
The members split up into small groups and headed off around the park. The result was several bags of litter. It is great that the young people were able to clear up so much – it is just a pity that there was the need for them to do it.
There was a good turn out from each of the sections and the groups were on public view for their opening parade.
Of course, no outing would be complete without the promise of sustanance at the end.
We got to finish of the evening with cake thanks to a birthday celebration in the cubs.
