Following the recent opening of the new Bunnings Store at Caringbah, we had the opportunity to run the Sausage Sizzle on 15 December.
.
Our Group Support Committee works hard to raise funds through various events during the year in order to help keep the group fees low while making sure that we are able to maintain our halls and provide equipment for the wide range of events that we put for the young people. Bunnings has always been a popular event to help us raise money but it involves a lot of people committing to help to make the day a success.
The group started at 0730 to set things up to make sure that we were ready for the off and throughout the day we had a team of between eight and ten people keeping it going, those making up the teams being there for between two and four hours, all brought into line and kept stoked by the organisation of Sien, Yuliana and Kolo. Thanks to all of the parent volunteers, uniformed members and leaders who were part of the team.
Despite the threatened bad weather, we only had about five minutes of slight rain. All in all, it was a very successful day and we would like to thank Bunnings for the opportunity to promote Scouting and raise funds.
