To mark the time when a Joey Scout moves on to Cubs, the rest of the mob gather to bid them farewell. This week, we had four Joeys ready to move up to Cubs. They had been going along to the Cub night for a few weeks at the end of last term so that they could meet the Cubs and find out a bit more about the pack before they moved up.
Each of the leaders offer their congratulations and then the Joeys climb the ladder to be greeted by a welcoming delegation of cubs.
After the climb, the Cubs had arranged a small celebration (mainly involving lemonade, popcorn and some introductory joke telling) to welcome their new members.
The main mob of Joeys also had a new person to welcome into their numbers. The leaders introduced a new helper who will be with the mob this term to carry out service in the community as part of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
